Another unhinged Lucian as a treat

Ok so hear me out, I make an AU where the plot of NPCs isn't as silly and lighthearted and it's a revenge plot.

I was thinking about how genuinely lucky Lucian's been not to have anything egregiously bad happen to him and for the most part everyone's treated him well. I was thinking about what would happen if things weren't nearly as smooth sailing for him. Like, say, if the first prince Frederick actually did get to him before he left and he'd get a front seat view of all the utter shit that happens. I imagine he'd act the same as he does now at first, trying to be as open and understanding as he can. The thing about Lucian is that he's really, really adaptable, and over time, all the plotting and uncertainty of having a position in the court and Mage's Tower would wear him down until he'd become just as twisted for the sake of survival. Even then, he does his best to stay in the background, but something would instigate him to take action himself. Like something so egregious he'd just snap.

And then he's looking for all the monster men of his but this time it's with incredibly malicious intent. That is, not with ill intent towards them, but he's seeking them out for his own benefit to wreck havoc however he sees fit. He'd be a lot more calculating and he'd use whatever weaknesses the guys have to his advantage. It'd be a significantly less equal dynamic to say the least. He fully intends for all of them to rely on him in some aspect. He wants them dependent on him, wants them desperately craving him for one reason or another. I don't think there'd be a particularly happy ending to this AU. Even when he gets his sweet revenge, he has to deal with the aftermath, and, when all is said and done, he now has ten very, very unstable guys who'd either kill for him or kill him. It's a very precarious situation to say the least haha
