Mermay Illustration PSD File
Added 2022-06-01 00:22:27 +0000 UTCThe PSD file may be a bit girthy LOL But I tried my bets to label some of my layers properly for people to hopefully be able to parse through. This was a very fun illustration to make earlier this month. I included everything from the references I used (both for colors and style inspiration) as well as the multiple concept sketches and the 3D models I had for the posing and comp. I think it's a really useful part of the process to see. I used to be a bit more shy about it (back when the sentiment was more universally "references and models = bad, you are an inauthentic artist." Nowadays I think people understand that it's a tool--and a wonderful time saver for people like me who work all day and then cry as they work more. I... do not know if I could do 40+ panels a week without having at least some modeling done.
