Poutine!
Added 2019-07-05 18:01:00 +0000 UTCProbably the last time I had poutine was in this pic, nearly 10 years ago! I like my fries to crunchy, crispy and salty, not soggy with gravy and cheese curds! But when you're at a local fair, it's only FAIR to get some.

I live in Texas and sometimes people serve fries/chips with chicken fried steaks. So there is usually plenty of cream gravy that gets on the fries. Dairy Queen (fast food place) will even serve a side of gravy to dip your fries in. It's not super common, but I wanted to compare that to poutine when I was in Victoria BC. The gravy in Canada being brown, thinner and the cheese curds, it's pretty similar. I liked it and see why it can be a cheap comfort food or a hang over helper.
