(NSFW) 'NPCs' Human AU

Originally this was going to be something I made for April Fools Day, except I missed it and then I got sort of invested haha.

This is a modern, human AU where, as the name implies, all the monsters are just regular guys in the real world. I've actually thought about this for quite some time (honestly since almost the beginning). Lucian's the same old guy, Vigil works at an animal shelter, Ixia's a florist, Raffaele's still in the mafia or perhaps just a politician LMAO, Faery King is a young, brilliant CEO, Azelthorne's some eccentric rich guy, etc. etc. It's really, really fun thinking of their designs translated into more normal, human looking designs. I'm honestly enamored with Faery King the way he looks here. He's just some hot guy hahaha

Now going deeper into the AU. I'm living my "rich CEO boyfriend" dreams through this. Lucian doesn't even work for Faery King. They met through a mutual friend at a party and hit it off immediately. Lucian's been getting his masters at a university in the city whilst working as a web designer on the side. The fact he can even do that given his situation is entirely because he now has a sugar daddy or two. Faery King on the other hand is a billionaire CEO of some great company that I'll stay staunchly vague about because my knowledge of business ends with real estate and restaurants. He's rightfully arrogant and a bit of a patronizing asshole, but he's a surprisingly human guy for someone who definitely broke some human rights codes (just the nature of being an exorbitantly wealthy CEO). You wouldn't think the two would get along so well, but the moment the strike up a conversation, they're stuck like glue to each other. They share a lot of similar life philosophies and (this WILL sound cringey) find each other intellectually stimulating. Really it's just that they laugh at each other's jokes genuinely and no one actually expects to find someone that's going to get a reference to the library of babel at a party. Their relationship grows fairly quickly, though more platonically than anything else. They're surprisingly innocent in their actual romantic relationship for a time, but of course they end up dating. Lucian practically lives in his house and everyone at the office just accepts his presence. He likes to go in around when office hours are about over and keeps Faery King company while he works overtime. Sometimes he brings them both dinner to enjoy. Other times, he brings other significantly more distracting things for them. Was this all an elaborate ploy to draw office desk sex? Yes. I do NOT regret it though. 10/10, would continue this AU until it's a whole other story with a full plotline.
