Technically the game he came from is partially a dating sim, so it's only fair that they made a DLC where you can date some of the most beloved monster bosses! He's an easy target to gain affection with, but exceedingly difficult to really get a good romantic ending with. If you don't continue to interest him, your affection level with start to drop. It only stops dropping down once you reach a certain threshold. However, if you harass his court or do anything they dislike, his opinion of you will also go down! A really annoying route to master, but worthwhile once you can get through the walls he's built up around himself.
Haha, imagine if I really made the guys in NPCs into a dating sim. I just think it'd be funny as hell if you didn't play as Lucian and he just wingmans for you. Just this nosy old guy who gives you cryptic advice every so often. It gets meta and he jokes about being an NPC tutorial character for you. We'll save that for another day though.
