(NSFW) Before the Show

It takes an hour to don a traditional costume with all its varying layers and ornaments, another two hours to do make up and hair, and just enough time left over before the screen slide open for a touch of magic. And that's all on a good day, when everything works smoothly without a hitch. It takes only five minutes for it all to be undone by a certain touchy actor who has taken great liberties in "getting into the role of their character." Hopefully they can finish soon, else the show they'll be putting on will be a bit different from the one the audience is expecting.

This was a very sudden urge for me to draw haha. I had no particular plans going into it other than a want to mess with 3D modeling and to give Teying and Yan En-Mei some love. This isn't the place dedicated to over-analyzing the gender philosophies of my fantasy culture, but I did want to gush a little about how fun and personally liberating it's been for me to explore with these characters. Entirely eschewing a binary system of gender for their culture has lead to so much fun with exploration (and validation for myself haha). 10/10 would recommend.
