Sales tax in the US is wild. On some items like gasoline and tires there's a federal excise tax plus state and local taxes. The sales tax in my city is 9%, which includes a state tax and a local tax. No tax on food but there is a tax on restaurant eating and take out. Tax can vary from locale to locale. It has become so confusing I ceased thing about tax.

USA has the tax thing too. You're correct about why. Some states in the USA do not have sales tax, I think Oregon doesn't. For instance in Texas we have no income tax, but the state charges 6.25% sales tax. The city I live in charges an additional 2% sales tax. That seems pretty common here. I think Oklahoma charges a different percentage. The only time we don't pay sales tax is on food (raw, unprocessed, etc). Processed food, candy and a few other things do still have sales tax. Then there are tax holidays before school starts for school supplies (there's a list). Vacation here is two weeks until you worked for the company 3 years. Then it's 3 weeks. After 10 it's four weeks and at 15 years it's five weeks. Since I'm salaried, I can flex time during the month. If I leave early, I can make it up by the end of the month or use vacation. I'm very lucky though.

Canada is still probably nice for a holiday and Siri understands your accent but your parents holiday home in Florida sounds better than all that snow. Thanks for the video.

Canada is very similar to Sweden with regard to dealing with snow, but very different when it comes to vacation allowance. Basically, if you're in full time work, you are entitled to 25 vacation days per year, and by law you are allowed to take 4 consecutive weeks off if you want to. Sweden mostly shuts down in July because that's when many people decide to take their 4 weeks. We have 13 days of public holidays here too, but most of them happen on a specific date which could be a weekend, so they don't really count.

I'm surprised it is only 76 times

Siri is a lying cow!

Because I am nerd and it sounded wrong. The 40 times is for the entire United Kingdom, Canada is 76 times bigger than England
