Lucian's my go to pretty guy. When I'm in a mood to just draw an objectively beautiful man, I feel like I gotta pull him out. He's also my main practice with drawing asses. It... is not my forte.
I actually used to be a bit iffy about making my male OCs too feminine presenting because there used to be thing going around that shit on the dynamic of a feminine gay man with a more masculine one. I understand the sentiment and I agree that making a feminine gay man to be a conduit for some heteronormative BS is bad, but I think some of the nuance got taken away. And just as a feminine guy myself who really enjoys exploring gender expression, I felt really throttled in what I was okay to make. Lucian is very specifically more feminine both for canon, in-story reasons, but also because I really just wanted to haha. He entirely has the choice to wear other kinds of clothes, to cut his hair, to do whatever with his body, but I think that having a second go at life in a world that doesn't have the same constraints as earth really allowed him to let loose. He absolutely is the classic case of: doing everything you were told you weren't allowed to do as a child. He had to be hypermasculine to survive quite literally. So that no one would even question his sexuality, to stay firmly and safely in the closet, he learned to be THE American man.
And now he wears lingerie and nice flowy clothes and dabbles in makeup :) Good for him, good for him. He'll reason that it's because it's a waste not to with looks like his, but at its core, he's just always wanted to try.
Anyways, that's the end of my spur of the moment mini tangent on Lucian. I could go way more in depth and psychoanalyze the poor man, but it gets into some spoiler-y territory so I'll have to abstain for now. Hope y'all enjoy him and his sweet ass haha
