This started way back in 2012 when I first got the number and I shit you not it was a call from Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys R Us for Kim’s child. I cannot escape it, but I don’t want to change my number. I hoped after so long it would stop. Sunken cost fallacy I guess

2025-02-09 06:56:20 +0000 UTCIn college, like 10 years ago, I used to get calls from an elderly woman who would leave the same voicemail saying, "Call your grandmama, baby, call your grandmama." I have to assume baby never called grandmama and it breaks my heart. Presently, (with the exact same number!) my number has ended up getting associated with a construction company back in my home state, but in a town I've never been to. Maybe baby found time to open a business while never calling their grandmama? If you google my number you get mapquest and yelp pages for the construction company. I've reached out to both mapquest and yelp and nothing's changed. I've been asking myself what to do with this opportunity, beside sending calls straight to voicemail. I feel like I'm squandering prime hijinks material.

2025-02-08 06:40:40 +0000 UTCWhen I was 13 and got my first phone I got the most heartfelt heartbreaking voicemail from a guy calling his friend from the army and they clearly had been thru a lot together and the guy was uncomfortable with how emotional he was about it and I just hope they reconnected eventual. I also got a lot of texts for him and some like bill collector stuff. But! I know the guy with my old phone number is doing well now! About 5 years ago he bought a house that people keep scam texting me wanting to buy and it's in a part of my hometown I know is very nice and popular with young families, houses with big yards, and also he's got a very nice truck bc ppl keep texting me insurance offers for it lol. I'm glad he's doing ok now. I feel a weird affection for him.
