2024-06-03 05:22:36 +0000 UTCi havent been able to stop thinking about this movie it is fascinatingly horrible like - Phylicia Rashad's character says verbatim "i think i should call the bank" WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH BEN SCHWARTZ but instead of doing that when she realizes she was scammed and GETS FRAUD ALERTS FROM HER BANK she just immediately unalives herself??? if david ayer and kurt wimmer wanted to kill her so bad why didnt they just make her have a heart attack like hello????? - all of the various american law enforcement, intelligence, and military institutions are portrayed as incompetent smol beans, and the only people who actually challenge bee-boy statham at all are non-specifically foreign cyberpunk psychopaths - the movie forgoes any semblance of nuance by having the "queen bee who gives birth to defective offspring" literally be the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES who also happens to be the mother of a hunter biden-esque failson - all of the call center employees are apparently rich trust-fund crypto bros who just scam people for fun i guess?? also i keep seeing people online calling this movie "woke" when one of the main protagonists is a fucking cop and the president of the united states is basically a martyr, like it is truly the most pro-status quo american essentialist movie you could possibly make without accidentally making a satire. media illiteracy on the right never ceases to baffle me

2024-06-02 14:11:41 +0000 UTCanastasia ep!!! very much relate to the parasocial love for wemby, he is so so very sweet. also hard agree on the unbelievably frustrating amount of body shaming that’s so normalised in the nba (and any pro sports league). the blatant disregard for how jokic and luka are at the top of the league right now paired with the constant criticism of their bodies drives me insane. it’s wild to me that commentators or people online can look at PRO ATHLETES and call them un-athletic because of a lack of aesthetic muscle mass. watching shaq and kenny have to eat their words about disregarding jokic for mvp in real time was oh so sweet. i might have been cheering on the timberwolves but i’m excited to see luka go to the finals again to prove the over haters wrong yet again.

2024-06-02 01:56:01 +0000 UTCThe last 1/3 of the movie just becomes a mission in hitman where he switches outfits, blends into large crowds, improves weapons in the environment, and then just slips away somehow undetected with no one following up. I think David Ayer just wanted to make a hitman movie but was passed a boomer revenge script on taking out call centers and was forced to adapt that

Unrelated to that but these movie episodes have become my favorite ones, the Madame Web one I've legit watched like three times
