Sad Boyz Nightz #52 - "U.S. vs Great Britain Quiz" [VIDEO]

Will Jarvis or Jordan be able to answer the most questions about each other's home nations?

Let us know what you think of the ep :)

Comments

I'm from a country town in Australia, and the nearest city with over a million people is always "the big smoke" lmao

Herby Herbmoji

The biggest Ben

kyla

I know nothing about the NBA but I can’t stop watching Wemby highlights

Rachael Skerritt

What you SHOULD try is bannock. Shit is fire. Edit: I should specify the canadian type indigenous people make. Bannock with meat stew is heavenly.

Jori

not me watching this wearing that exact Jarvis merch and didn't notice until 10 mins in lol

Lamar watson

Arizonans represent! I'm very happy to be able to say that I don't live there anymore, it's genuinely always 100+ degrees there now

Skiddly Winks

Watching this being from the south but having lived in the UK I feel very seen by this biscuit discourse

Rachel Eakes

Every time I see a video of basketball I’m reminded that it’s only interesting to me in person lol

Parker

So 1066 is when the British monarchy technically started, with William the Conqueror being the first king of England, he was French and that’s why the language was French

Joshua Haskett

Hearing Jordan talking about hypermobilty and being diagnosed with EDS ❤️

Ren

No one's gonna talk about the fact that there's an NBA player named Pops?

Samantha Shrader

The good ones are very fluffy inside

Squid

I feel like the middle between a croissant and a dense dinner roll is a better balance comparison cause you don’t really get the flakiness in a roll or a scone

Sarah S

Northern Ireland mentioned!!

Odhran Curran

As an Australian who's lived in America - you can't really compare biscuits to anything we have. I think people say scones because they look the same from the outside, but it's really its own thing.

Daniel

I rolled my ankle so many times as a kid when I was playing in the woods alone and never mentioned it to anyone because it was just that normal 💔

Max Parkin

God it’s so EDS core to just straight up roll your ankle and be like “nah I’m ok, this happens all the time” 😭

Max Parkin

jarvis needs to go on or host an NBA show or something, as much as i love him introducing it to someone new, i also wish someone more knowledgeable could hit the metaphorical tennis ball back

CJ Wilson

i would pay 500k to watch an NBA game with jarvis and just chat about it

shae_lig

I’m British and have never had american biscuits but my theory is that they’re like a cobbler

Emma

Me, a Canadian, yelling at the screen about them not knowing the war of 1812

Hannah Redhead

It's tennis against a wall

HxZero

i really like when you guys talk about basketball! my partner is a big nba fan so ive been trying to get into it to engage with his interests but i dont really know where to start with getting into basketball (if that makes sense lol). learning some of it thru yall is rly helpful since i like the podcast so much :)

Vivian Nguyen

enjoyed the respectful biscuit interlude

Drawn at Random

Also thank you Jarvis for not including the republic of Ireland in the definition of great Britain/uk, far too many people still think we're part of it 🙃 /gen

Beau

As an Irish person who lived in America for a few months Jarvis is so right about like, the expectations of eating a biscuit lol. I was expecting something dense and heavy like a scone but they're much lighter and flakier and honestly were really tasty

Beau

Racquetball and squash actually are different, the balls and rackets are both slightly different. And people do play squash in the US but mostly in the northeast/Mid-Atlantic.

Ina

Jarvis is right, biscuits are a kind of quickbread. The difference is using a chemical leavener (baking powder) instead of a biological leavener (yeast). Most biscuits also use the mechanical leavening of cold butter, which gives you those flaky layers. Baking is science!

Eddie Ackerman

So technically yes amendments are additions to the Constitution but the first 10 aka the Bill of Rights were added immediately bc it wouldn't have had the votes to pass without those!

Sisi 77

btw you guys i'm not super familiar with how much ccs interact with eachother but ik you two are friends with stanz and i'm pretty sure he playes basketball with ludwig every weekend if you wanna practice the game with someone that'd be a good idea maybe from what ludwig talks about it there's players from all skillsets and it's pretty chill!!

cris

you guys are getting me interested in the NBA

Jana

I studied linguistics at uni and did an exam on place names with old norse origin in the Danelaw part of England and back before that period of french influence, old norse and old english were mutually intelligible - sorry had to provide one niche interest fact after that question. Also happy to hear you can't kill Karlach - she's the best!

Amalie Lind Hansen

Also fun fact! We have biscuit breakfast sandwiches in Canada, Tim hortons sells them

Lemoncellos

Lives in LA, group of friends, and basketball used to be their profession….? Is this friend Winston bishop..?

Lemoncellos

I really appreciate the work Jarvis, Jordan, and Jacob all put in to creating content for us. The quizzes are such a great feature in the podcast and are really engaging content. All of you are incredible at your jobs and I'm grateful for the entertainment! Great job Boyz (Boyz includes Jacob I'm sure we can all agree)

Gwendo

I love these type of quizes, it makes the episodes very interactive. And I learn something new every time

Renske

I cried laughing when Jordan said 9th grade was the debut 😂

morgan sage

Please play the original Baldurs Gate 1&2 they are absolutely worth playing and some of the best games of all time. You can even do co op, someone can walk you through how it works and then let you go to play the rest.

Colin Tevis

i bought you five kitchens! -bobby from queer eye, apparently

Beth Straubel

For the record, Canada (the British) actually did beef with the USA in the War of 1812. Canada burned down the US Capitol building in Washington, D.C. I think that was before the stuff with Mexico but the British get the credit for that move since we only got our independence from Britain in like the 80s.

Ryleigh Millar

There it is :)
