Same thing with most the trends on any social media - I just don't get it. More specifically I thought the first two presenters deliveries of their stories was kind of off and unsettling.

There was one guy (in his 20s) that claimed he owned a farm with over 20,000 chickens that he hand fed every day, had a wife and kids but also a boyfriend, owned a pet lobster which he walked on a leash, and was also a neurosurgeon. I could go on there was so many bold claims he made to customers and coworkers that just never made any sense and it was absolutely hilarious.

2024-02-24 19:44:47 +0000 UTCOkay i don't know why this bothers me so much when this is a fake story, but the guy who told the fake story about being the NFL streaker could not have bet on himself. There is rules about betting where you cannot bet on something that you go and make true. It really bothers me that part of his lie is just something he could not have objectively done. From a NY times article: "It is ethically O.K. for an athlete to bet on himself to win if he always bets on himself, always bets the same amount and does so through legal, state-sanctioned means. If all three of these criteria are met, wagering on yourself doesn’t constitute a problem. But if any one of these criteria is not met, the action is damaging to the sport as a whole." This also applies to like betting a fan will do something during a game.

The only thing that distinguishes it from straight-up lying is that it's actually funny and clever.
