Oh my god the point jordan makes about how “people care more about hypocrisy than actual harm” is so real. I think it’s because caring about hypocrisy doesn’t actually require an ideological stance, it’s one of those things you can point to from a nice distance, with no stance of your own, and say “that’s bad isn’t it!”. I feel like it goes hand in hand with those twitter warriors who just debate for the sake of it: it’s a virtue signal (and a very cowardly one). It’s saying “okay i don’t have any opinion on this, don’t get mad at me, BUT… that guy doesn’t practice what he preaches! Do I agree with what he preaches? Who’s to say?” It felt so cathartic to hear Jordan talk about how much people care about hypocrisy. Also just realized i typed up a wall of text, my b! Loved the episode!
