2024-01-02 08:57:37 +0000 UTCFor my 16th birthday my grandparents gave me a set of keys & a bunch of car stuff⦠so obviously I thought I was getting a car.. my grandpa then informed me that no, it was the spare set to my grandmas car that I could borrow on the weekends.. that is if I could find a ride to their house because at the time they lived about 30 minutes away.. I know now it was thoughtful but at the time I was so crushed! (As an adult yes I understand what a privileged take that was at the time to think they would buy me a car but still it hurt lol)

Here is a little more local lore about Gritty: his fans are called Gritizens, he hosts an annual charity 5k where he goes around throwing full sheet cakes at voluntary fans, and they've designated a section of the Wells Fargo Arena (the arena where the Flyers play) as "Gritty's Chaos Corner." He also has 2 men dressed in full suits and sunglasses (imagine the outfits from men in black) that follow him around and act as security. Great episode, and excited for the next installment of Jarvis talks about sports mascots!
