2024-12-09 16:20:15 +0000 UTCCommenting so late but Brit here - my husband is allergic to all nuts - you do have to pay for Epipens but not much. I think they’re free for kids. ADHD is much more commonly diagnosed now (I’m 24 on Friday and a bunch of kids I was at school with were diagnosed with it, I was when I was 18) but they still don’t commonly prescribe meds for children unless it’s severely impacting their ability to ‘function’. I was on antidepressants and antipsychotics as a kid (still am) and I had to see a psychiatrist like once a week to make sure I was ok because the NHS is so careful with paediatric prescriptions.

2024-10-08 03:54:46 +0000 UTCCurrently going back through old sad boys nights eps. & in the theme of shit, my partner told me the story of them getting absolutely zooted when camping with friends. My partner found a plank in the woods, shat on the plank, and then showed his mates.

2024-07-14 21:28:13 +0000 UTCI got picked up by an ambulance for a heatstroke I was having like 3 years ago now, and that bill combined with my night in the er and day in a hospital room came out to about 27k. I'm on my parent's insurance so it was like a few thousand dollars balance, but that was fucking gnarly

2024-07-09 00:35:49 +0000 UTCHearing Jordan talk about the lack of natural predators in the UK made me think of when mt best friend from when I studied in London came to visit me in NC. There was a sign warning that due to warm weather, native snakes would probably be on certain parts of the path and to just give them space bc the zoo is their home too but she was SHOCKED that have so many snakes in the South lmao

2024-02-09 19:36:22 +0000 UTCjarvis’s description of having ADHD in school (not handing in homework but doing well bc you’re seen as smart/good at tests) hits so close to home for me. I’m in uni now (barely getting by) and in the process of getting diagnosed, but I can’t believe no teacher ever mentioned anything??!

2023-10-27 04:08:04 +0000 UTCMy teachers were like that in school and they said it’s not gonna work in college, bombed my first sem in college. Started doing the homework’s and my grades doubled. Now I gotta work on my ADHD and also my general mental aversion to being on time

2023-06-25 05:26:07 +0000 UTCI read that my senior year in a world religions class in basically one sitting, it was positively horrific. I literally thought while watching the ep that Night should be required reading, but for, like, all 20 year olds. I think about Night constantly, one of my friends read it in eighth grade and also thought she was too young. Any Holocaust denier should be forced to read it and watch the French documentary Night and Fog

2023-06-02 03:49:00 +0000 UTCI had to read night in 6th grade. Way way too dark for that young. They like hand picked who they thought could handle it and there were like 6 of us that they just decided we’re already sad enough or something. If you haven’t read night it’s gory and I’m depth and a very hard read even as an adult.

2023-06-02 03:44:34 +0000 UTCThe Diary of Anne Frank was required reading for us in 8th grade.

2023-06-01 06:59:02 +0000 UTCHello!! I forgot to give my update on the day I watched this. I had an issue from my PayPal account and it was suspended, and due to that I could not pay for this month. But you might be like "Theo, you are here, which means you did pay." And I would respond to "yes I manually put in my card information to pay this time." While I do not remember much about the episode, I must say that Night's always feels more iconic, more fun, more goofy, more quirky and more sad boyz then sad boys. Here's my conspiracy theory, they record the night episode first so we paid viewers get the highest and hottest energy first while the plebians get a lower energy version. Anyway this was a good episode and I'm looking forward to whatever you guys post in the future

2023-05-31 01:15:44 +0000 UTCsame same same. I'm taking 10mg daily now and when I was like 8 years old I was on 24 mg ???? Its insane that we don't just titrate up on adderall like you do on antidepressants etc.

2023-05-30 16:00:23 +0000 UTCJordan mentioned this on the youtube episode but i think the youtube shorts algorithm sees my name and age, Connor, 26, and goes “oh this fucking guy wants to see Jordan Peterson, that’s his hero!” and i can’t fucking stand it

2023-05-30 11:38:13 +0000 UTCI *really* appreciated the ADHD chat, im the only one in my circle that’s diagnosed/medicated & it’s nice to hear people talk about regretting not being medicated earlier, the shame of BEING medicated, & the whacky side effects.

2023-05-29 13:35:33 +0000 UTCI remember as a kid my mom telling my psych I actually didn't have adhd so I was never given meds as a kid. She did however let them put me on Depakote for ODD which is wild. I have been diagnosed with adhd as an adult but I didn't want to rush into stimulants as I wasn't sure about the side effects, but I am on Intuniv now which is a non stimulant adhd med. Also flushable wipes are so bad! I get non flushable ones and a closing trash bin for the bathroom. I always feel like the ones that don't flush are better anyway. I enjoyed the episode :)

2023-05-29 00:23:58 +0000 UTCi specifically remember in 8th grade that i was in the advanced class and anne frank’s diary was a required reading for us, but the non advanced classes required reading was maus

2023-05-28 00:13:47 +0000 UTCI never had to read anne frank but I did in 4th grade because my family is Jewish and i was trying to learn. this was not, however, how I expected to learn what periods were

2023-05-27 19:48:21 +0000 UTCThe whole convo about having ADHD in grade school is so real! I was undiagnosed until my 20s. I have an assload of college debt from getting a film degree that I could barely focus on at the time. Feels like such a waste of time/money, but glad I’m on the other side now 🥲

2023-05-27 17:41:43 +0000 UTCThe thing Jarvis said about being really good at tests and not handing in homework was scarily relatable. So weird how teachers would let me get away with not doing homework for YEARS because I was well behaved and conventionally smart.
