There was this customer when I worked at Family Dollar, he was part of the national guard I think but one day this heavy set man just had no shirt and some American themed shorts. I told him he has to have a shirt on in order to serve him but in my kind of way I don't remember I was probably stuttering and failing trying to explain and this very "clever" man was saying this is a free country you don't have the authority blablabla, kind of in a "cool funny guy" tone, major respect to him... Until. Third day he showed up without a shirt probably out of spite, being sort of a assistant manager I asked him where his shirt was "I told you to put on a shirt" feeling brave. But this man was braver as he turned around to flash his bare ass to me about 12 feet away in one of the clothing aisles mid-encounter telling me "kiss my ass" I was appalled and speechless looking immediately away wishing I wasn't here and in a stuttering low voice I was like "p-please just leave I don't want you in the store anymore. "I-Ill call the cops" or said I was going to 86 him. He was standing at the time and his mood just changed? His hands raised like okay I'll leave. And I had to continue on my shift trying to forget what happened. I kind of intern laugh about it now but it was still very traumatic (Sorry for bad writing)

I can't think of any fun retail stories off the top of my head, but I worked at a bookshop and the amount of times people would just try (or succeed at) stealing random books, sometimes in front of me, was astounding. It's hard enough to sell books as it is, you are NOT gonna be able to resell those. It's not like they were finding a book they liked and sneaking it out, it was just grabbing random stuff off shelves yknow.
