One dangerous zombie
Added 2019-03-17 04:49:45 +0000 UTCOk, maybe not really that dangerous since he's as difficult as regular zombies, but hey, at least Zombie Forest is almost here. This will be useful later for the Director's Cut mode that I'm planning to release at some point along with the revised Classic REbirth 1.
For those who love technicalities, Zombie Forest is an extension of the regular zombie. He has one extra bit of code that makes him revive in a cutscene, code that is missing in vanilla RE1 (the PC port is based on this so it's missing here as well). What I did was some research into the Director's Cut code to figure out exactly what is missing, reproduced the content, and injected into the AI procedures via the DLL. During this process I was also able to figure out a few extra details, like how sound samples for a room are loaded via some hardcoded tables.
All in all, it was a fun hack, small in terms of code but huge for all the little details that I had to piece together.
