New Billing Method
Added 2022-09-28 13:28:10 +0000 UTCHi all! Patreon begin introducing 'subscription billing' as a new billing method. These are changes 'if' I switch to subscription billing
New patrons are charged when they join and monthly on that same date, instead of on the 1st of each month. For example, a patron who signs up on April 12 is charged again on May 12. Patrons will see their next charge date at checkout and in their Active Memberships tab.
Nothing changes for existing patrons. you are still charged on the 1st of each month.
Should I change to subscription billing?
PS. Switching to subscription billing is permanent. Once I switched I won't be able to switch back to old billing method.

The current result is indeed quite surprising...

2022-09-28 17:45:45 +0000 UTCSubscription method is a lot more fair for people who join at a different day during the month, and it changes nothing for people already here. Plus if they leave and rejoin later, they don't have to worry about getting charged twice in the first month. Seems like a win-win to me.
