28 Hair Tips + Rug Breakdown

In this video I show you some of techniques that I've used while working with Hair in Cinema 4D and Redshift and I also breakdown this Rug I recently did as a personal exploration to learn more about Hair in 3D.

It's a bit long but as always, please enjoy and let me know you thoughts!

And as a bonus this month I'm including the working C4D file in case you are interested (minus any GSG textures) Download it here!

Thank you for joining and for your kind words! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. If you animate the rug I would probably disable gravity on the hair but other than that it should work because you are right once the gravity is on then it's a lot more difficult to control things like clump. Or at least adjust the gravity so it's not super strong, that's where I would start. It definitely depends on your type of animation too.

Thank you for this helpful tutorial! The rug looks amazing, and finally, someone went and explored the hair system in detail. Great job! Do you think it will work the same if we are going to animate it? I am not sure how gravity affects the clump and other settings.

The 4090 is a very powerful gpu so it will definitely be a great investment!

Fantastic, thanks! I’m thinking a single 4090, but don’t know how far it will take me, especially when it comes to animation, etc.
