Growing up in a livestock farming village, Hatti always had a way with animals. Unfortunately, that didn’t help when a rift opened in the market square of her home.

By cleverness and luck, Hatti narrowly escaped the town's destruction. With nothing left for her there, she decided to lend help to people less lucky and skilled than her throughout the ‘Wild, in hopes that she might save people from what befell her friends and family.

Already humble and experienced enough to know the dangers of doing this alone, Hatti set out looking for like-minded people to join her. Dr. Nomples would be an enormous asset and loyal friend, yes, but making the Riftwild a safer place would take a lot more than a girl and her goat. The duo became a trio when she found Old Mick, a mechanic and gadgeteer of growing renown and swelling eagerness for firsthand experimentation. But after a few successful quests, the bind the trio would find themselves in could only be cut by as skillful a spellblade as someone like Rowen.
