I think the reason he rubs people the wrong way is his Alpha shtick which is the same for every one of his scenes, so there's no character depth to him just yet. It's just "I'm the alpha." "You're the alpha" on loop for all of them which gets tedious and annoying since he's a caricature. The succubus referencing him a lot when he possesses Cass with Jake fucking her and Olivias fantasies about him probably doesn't help? But whatever. Of the 4 female characters you can interact with, 50% constantly fantasize about Mel with no way to shift that to Jake by way of the Succubus, so maybe that's the factor. This should lessen once more characters can be interacted with maybe, but then again the two main ones of the forbidden kink are the two most want to chase as Jake. Anyway a way to bend Mel into a femmy fuck toy would be great. Side note: If everyone is already fucking and sucking before the Succubus arrives, the point of her kinds of gets diminished because you're not bending and warping the people around her to your desires like most succubus related media has the protagonist do. That's what drew me to the game when I learned about it. IMO what's the fun in someone who's already fantasizing about her daughters boyfriend and sleeping around with her sons girlfriend and the neighbors? She doesn't need a succubus's push, she's already slutty. I was way more into it when I had first gotten a demo build of the game months and months ago and thought she was a wholesome housewife to twist into a forbidden-love loving sex fiend with Jake. Forcing a reluctant guy to give into his own secret desires as he manipulates and pulls everyone into his "harem" to save them before being broken and giving in to her just as the succubus planned. I think/hope this succubus influence aspect may be being built on though since seducing and bedding the other book holders seems to be the only way Jake can win this building suerpower fight. That's my biggest critique of the game: The succubus (and forbidden-love) was a main focus/ draw, but now her and her influence are starting to feel like after thoughts. The game still has enjoyable stuff for me even if I dislike certain aspects of it and agree with some of the detractors at times. They've been outspoken on /trash/ and elsewhere since the "get Olivia to fuck Mel" quest was added because it's "harem building for someone else" (though optional/ ignorable). These detractors seem to be taking the conversation directly here now in a somewhat counter intuitive way at times in recent history so I'm not sure what the boil point was to get them to finally speak up directly; but it's not a sudden up-swelling. It's been there and they're just now bringing their gripes directly to you for once.
