I was about to throw this variegated acorn squash out, because I didn't eat it, and I thought it was so pretty. It's supposed to be striped green and white, so that it changed colors into a pumpkin color means it's really old. Only good for seeds, not eating. I suppose there's some fertility/lack of fertility old womb symbolism here, but I'm not generally very good at that in my art. It's more a texture, color, play, experimentation thing. July 2021 in my studio. I'm pretty happy with how the series turned out. Unedited.
