This shoot happened March 13, 2020. I remember that because it was the day the stay at home orders were starting and we were trying to decide if we should still shoot. Oh if only we knew how bad it was yet to become. March 2020 was nothing. One case diagnosed I think that month? Now there are hundreds a day in my county in Ohio. Anyway, this is the room I shoot in. You can see the condition of the walls. I picked off all the crumbling plaster I could. Now, I'm mudding and sanding them, probably will be able to prime tomorrow. It's a long messy process. The cream shiny-ish paint is standard in my 120+ year old masonic temple building and provided free. Free is a plus. And, cream looks good for accenting the room in old timey shoots or edits. Any other color one has to pay for. I think my cool / blue-based skin looks better against pure white, though. White provides more contrast so my skin doesn't disappear into the wall and is a better neutral for any kind of art shoot. And, a less shiny paint wouldn't show the imperfections in the wall and my mudding job as much, so I think I'm going to splurge and buy my own white paint. What do you think? If there are any photographers reading this, I'm especially interested in your opinion. Thanks.
Photographer is an anonymous friend who has been shooting me for years and through three camera upgrades. I'll be posting more of our work after we get through Dave's shoot.
