The Keymaster - release V 0.3

Hey people,

I’m very pleased to announce the public release of V 0.3 of The Keymaster!  Here are the links:

The game already has a thread at F95zone, and the front page of that thread is a good place to look for compressed or android versions and other interesting stuff not available here.

So… Version 0.3.  In summary:

· It covers the third week of the story, with over 40,000 new words and 600 new images.

· More travel, more on the sub-plots with the Silverleaf and with Lucy’s strange condition, and a couple of new characters too.

· This week you can lock in one of the main female characters as a Love Interest (two to choose from). Or you can decide not to have a Love Interest.

Each player has his own preferences for characters and related scenes, so I’ve created  a range of alternative scenes and sub-paths.  From V 0.3 on, the game is set up so that if you play through a couple of times you can choose different love interests and unlock different scenes. There are specific save points at the end of V 0.3 to record which path that save represents (similar to what I did for Naughty Magic).

All is explained again in the game, at the start of V 0.3.  And there’s a recap of V0.2 there too, in case you want it.

Glad you like V 0.3, and that you persevered. Thanks! The first two episodes were very much about setting up plots and meeting the characters. I was also influenced by a fantasy series I was reading at the time (and which is referenced in The Keymaster), where multiple characters get storylines rather than it all being about just one person. As you say, I’ve focused a bit more on the MC in V 0.3, and that will continue. But I hope that one benefit from me trying to give depth to the other characters in V 0.1 and V 0.2 is that their interactions now with the MC take on more meaning than in some other games that leave the girls one dimensional. I increased the emphasis on skippable scenes after I got (constructive) feedback from various players that made me realise I need to make the game as customisable as I can to cater for each player’s preferences. Some people like one aspect or character, while other people like a different aspect or character. It’s harder to cover a wide range of paths, but I’m trying.

Ok I absolutely hated the first version the second was just ok update 3 is really good and thanks for making scenes skippable. The biggest grips I had was not focusing on the MC but you seem to shift the story to center on the key master very well in this update.
