Feedback on V0.1?

Well, V0.1 of The Keymaster is out with the public now and has had plenty of downloads. I hope everyone is enjoying it. I’m busy on V0.2 so I’d appreciate feedback on V0.1 to help guide me as the game develops.
So, feedback please! What do you like? What do you NOT like? A couple of starters:
1. Sometimes the menu offers you a single choice rather than a multiple choice. I like this approach after playing DMD, a classic game that uses it quite a lot. But what about you guys, do you like or dislike it?
2. I’m writing for the main characters so they are independent of the MC in all ways, including “intimate relations” with other characters. I think a game that just leaves this sort of activity for the MC is boring, but some players seem to get annoyed by it. At the moment these scenes between non-MC players like Lucy and Mallory are unavoidable; would you like me to build in a choice so you could watch them or not watch them?

I like to have the main female characters being as involved in the story as the MC, so hopefully you will enjoy the results as the story develops. Certainly a lot of support, and a couple of shared adventures are planned for later in the game.

He also allows them some freedom sex-wise without jealousy coming in. I guess I like that approach and I did the same in my previous game, Naughty Magic. It flowed into The Keymaster without me giving it any conscious thought. I’ll mention Phillip Pullman again because he says a story sort of writes itself, unfolding almost of its own choice as you get to know each character. For me, the story of The Keymaster has unfolded in this way, with a degree of independence in the main female characters that may not be similar to other games you are playing. Now that I think of it, Mr Dots implied M-F the main female character in Sunshine Love had sex with a male who was not the MC, but Dots only hinted at it and didn’t show it. I can certainly try to revise The Keymaster so it becomes optional to watch sex with other male characters. Hopefully you can take on board what I‘ve said and relax about the jealousy issue.

I understand what you are saying and I like Lucy a lot I just don't want to be forced into watching her with others if I don't want to. I may be in the minority on this but how I read or play these games. I usually only play male protagonist and I try to experience the story through there eyes. So maybe the jealousy isn't in your words but it's how I experienced it. If that makes any sense I'm not trying to be malicious in my argument here because I truly like this story.

You are not alone in being put out by Lucy’s actions, so I’ll explain what I am trying to do in TK: • In this game, as in my previous game, women get similar rights in general to men. To me that just seems fair. This means that if the MC can have casual sex with pretty much anyone, the main female characters can enjoy a bit of variety too. • The other relevant aspect in this game is the attitude of various races (fairies and part-fairies in particular) to sex. They generally love sex and they engage in it in a frequent and casual way. It is not always reserved for their love interest if they have one. They do not mean any harm by this, it is just the way they are. Lucy is not actually cuckolding the MC, as they are not in a relationship, they are just friends. Her weird approach to sex with him is a function of the prophecy and its related magic. The MC already knows that Lucy has sex with other guys and it causes him bemusement not jealousy (and jealousy is a fundament elemental of ntr, at least according to the definition of ntr on the F95 Zone website). He likes Lucy but is not sure it goes beyond that. And there are character developments as well as new characters still to come. So, my intentions in the game are equal rights and lots of good sex. Sex for cuckolding or ntr is not something I want in my games. But, to paraphrase a wise fantasy-writing dude called Phillip Pullman, people may read something quite differently to the way the writer thought it would be read. You are clearly put out by Lucy having casual sex with another guy. I like your suggestion about making it something to skip. The way that Lucy is getting information is locked into the game but I can certainly add a menu to allow players to skip the visuals of what she is doing. Based on what I have said above, and with a skip menu to avoid the non-MC male sex, have I helped to resolve your issue?

2021-04-26 07:23:58 +0000 UTCi may be in the minority but i hate the inability to skip the non MC scenes for some reason its just M/F scenes im just not into. I like the backstory but this may not be my sort of game. I just saw the NTR tag. You seriously have a "Main Character" that other than a kiss and hugs gets NO loving while the girls he really wants friend zones him and kinda cucks him.

I hear you about animations and I’m hoping to introduce them soon, even if they are only simple. When I moved from Naughty Magic to The Keymaster I totally reworked my images, from old V4 to G8 in Daz Studio. I’m rather thick when it comes to rendering and I’m still on a learning curve for getting the time for some renders down to a manageable level (some are taking two hours!). That impacts on how much time goes into preparing animations, but I like animations too so I’ll keep working at it for both of us! P

And after playing The Keymaster, I did decide to join, because I really enjoyed the story and want to see what comes next in 0.2. The only negative for me was the lack of animations. I know that not everyone wants them, but for me, they only enhance a good VN. And The Keymaster is a good one in my book.
