Hey people,
Time for a decent update on my new game, The Keymaster.
When I started making Naughty Magic, I had the outline of a story, some characters and a broad idea of how the magic would work. But I made most of the detail up as I went along, and that was a difficult way to make a game.
So, with The Keymaster I’m getting the story and the characters much better sorted at the start. That means:
· A spreadsheet showing every day in the game and five columns for tracking the major activities and interactions.
· A lot of writing, to get into detail of the story as it progresses, and link actions and possibilities through the many weeks that the game will involve. I’ve written around 70,000 words of the story so far.
· Several hundred test renders, to make sure I can support the plot visually.
It’s great fun to do and the whole game is becoming more interesting and cohesive.
But “what about V 0.1?” I hear you say. Well, the words for it are pretty much written, and I’ve made most of the images (more than 250 game images, on top of all the other test renders), so it’s coming along well. No release date yet; my part-time approach due to finances etc, and the whole COVID thing, means dates are impossible to predict. But I’m working on it as hard as I can.
To the Patrons who support me while I do this…Thanks so much, guys! I’m spending a small fortune on new content for the images, and I really could not do it without your help. Some of the new outfits are looking nice, as our mystery girl above is happy to show…..(And yes, the jacket can be unbuttoned.)
And to all you other people reading this, thanks for your interest in my work!
