Hey $2 patrons, here is the first chapter of my new visual novel - The Carnaloreon.

Top tier patrons received it last week and general release will be next week but here is a special issue for you guys.

Just to recap - this plot has been bubbling away in my head for a while. It allows me to merge fantasy and sex...both great topics! Also, I wanted to try out Ren'py (as opposed to Adrift, which I used for MWA1) because of its visual potential. From my perspective there is a big contrast between Ren'py and Adrift as to the nature of the writing, the visuals and their relative importance. Decision control is also different. Adrift offers huge flexibility for decisions, but with that flexibility comes added complexity that slows down the development process.

I guess each package has strengths and weaknesses! What appeals to you most - story, pictures or the gaming aspects?

Anyway here is my first attempt with Ren'py. This chapter "sets the scene".

The reason for the story's title will be explained in Chapter Two, which is more than half finished. It will take the story a lot further and introduce more characters. I have plot lines for many more chapters if people like the concept, and I can keep the image rendering happening.
