Coming Down the Pipeline: Refreshed Subtitle Translations!
Added 2023-11-05 18:57:45 +0000 UTCThis is just a friendly update to let people know what is coming down the pipeline! Currently we are in the process of refreshing our subtitle definitions. That is, while we are actively removing duplicate, bad, or incorrect, titles, we are also doing the following:
- Adding new subtitles which have accrued over the period.
- Retroactively checking for titles which are detected as machine translations.
- Hunting down the original machine translated source.
- Refreshing titles by re-translating using modern AI language models.
Hopefully this means that subtitle translation quality should be improved while any improperly translated subtitles should now be fixed. Since there are over 20k+ worth of subtitle indexes to review (and potentially translate), processing will likely take a few weeks. However I am trying to expedite this process by splitting up the workload among various hardware.
