Chapter 101: Shifting Clouds, White Fang Prepares an Ambush
*Inside the camp tent*
"Yosuke, Tsunade-sama's intelligence indicates that the Sand Shinobi and Rain Shinobi have secretly formed an alliance. The current situation is quite unfavorable. According to reports, even more enemy ninja squads have infiltrated our battlefield..."
Hearing this, Uchiha Yosuke’s face turned grim but remained composed. With a steady voice, he replied:
"Have our forces increase patrols around the outskirts of the town. Inside the town, we’ll do the same. If manpower is insufficient, I'll request reinforcements. This town must be defended."
"Understood."
Looking at the worried expressions of Mikoto and Kushina, Uchiha Yosuke's gaze became resolute. "Don’t worry. This war will end. When it does, we’ll all go home together."
This single sentence seemed to ease the tension of war, prompting Kushina to purse her lips.
“Mikoto must have fallen for you because of lines like that.”
The remark brought a smile to Mikoto's face, while Uchiha Yosuke sighed helplessly.
Mikoto, however, leaned close to Kushina and whispered teasingly, “Actually, I was the one who tricked Yosuke. Want to join me?”
Kushina’s face turned bright red at the suggestion. Glaring at the flirtatious pair, she clenched her teeth in mock anger. “Unbelievable!”
Meanwhile, Yosuke chuckled and shook his head before turning to leave with a scroll in hand. Though the intelligence was genuine, part of it was a coordinated ruse between him and Tsunade.

**Konoha Frontline Command Post**
Tsunade stood before a map with a grave expression, her brows furrowed.
"That kid mentioned sensing something off—seems like there’s a conspiracy brewing."
Suppressing her anger, Tsunade huffed, recalling her suspicions about what Yosuke might be hiding. 'That brat! Always pretending to behave in front of me, admitting mistakes so obediently... only to do as he pleases behind my back.'
Her thoughts were interrupted when she slammed a fist into the desk, declaring, "This time, I’ve stationed Mikoto and Kushina at your side, Yosuke. Now you know how to request reinforcements, huh?"
Her focus returned to the map. The Leaf Shinobi forces, led by White Fang, had been holding the line. However, the elusive Rain Shinobi avoided direct confrontations. The Hokage had ordered a swift resolution to the war, but the means to achieve this remained unclear.
Orochimaru's chilling laughter echoed as he entered, rain dripping from his hat.
"If you want to force the Rain Village's main forces into battle, it’s simple. Gather our ninja corps and attack the Rain Village directly. With enough casualties, their leader will have no choice but to engage."
"That’s reckless!" Jiraiya objected, glaring at Orochimaru.
Tsunade, massaging her temples in frustration, barked, "Enough! Stop arguing. If this war drags on, the Hidden Cloud and Mist Villages might intervene, and we’ll face a far worse situation."
At the mention of a four-way alliance against the Fire Nation, the room grew tense. Memories of the First Great Ninja War, which devastated the Senju clan, surfaced in Tsunade's mind.
After a moment of contemplation, she decisively announced, "We’ll form a squad of elite Jonin to clear our territory of enemy spies and disrupt their plans. If no opportunities arise, we’ll execute Orochimaru’s plan."

**Konoha**
In the Hokage’s office, Koharu Utatane held a report from the Rain Village, her expression lightening.
"According to this, Hanzo of the Salamander seems willing to negotiate a ceasefire."
Danzo scoffed. "Don’t be naive. Hanzo is a cautious and manipulative leader. Do you think he’d propose peace without ulterior motives?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded. "Danzo’s right. The Rain Village wants to use us against the Sand Village while avoiding prolonged conflict. We’ll agree to their terms publicly but proceed with White Fang’s plan in secret. His proposed ambush could end the war swiftly."
Danzo smirked. "White Fang is bold. If this works, it will indeed be a decisive blow."
As the room reached a consensus, the leaders of Konoha steeled themselves for the coming days. Though risky, they placed their trust in Sakumo Hatake’s ability to turn the tide.
