Chapter 93: "If You Don’t Take It, How Will I?"

Inside the room.

“Captain Yosuke, here are the latest statistics from the mine excavation.”

After reporting previous matters, the representatives of the Senju, Aburame, and Hyuga clans, as well as Uchiha Mikoto and Uzumaki Kushina, gathered in the office.

“Here’s the recent excavation report. Please, take a look.”

As everyone took their seats, Uchiha Yosuke smiled and gestured for Uchiha Yatsushiro to pass the report scroll to each person.

Although this place seemed like a relatively safe spot for Tsunade to train potential clan ninjas, Uchiha Yosuke had already noticed an issue with this mine after multiple references to it.

Indeed, as the mine was excavated further, it was discovered that the lower layers contained a high concentration of chakra-infused minerals—essentially, a rare chakra metal-rich vein.

Chakra metal is an extremely valuable strategic resource; even among the Five Great Nations, only a few elite jonin possess chakra weapons, highlighting its rarity.

Uchiha Yosuke was especially pleased to see how much Tsunade had grown. She understood that hoarding the resource for herself would lead to isolation, so she chose to share it with allied clans, strengthening their alliance.

Yosuke tapped his fingers on the wooden desk, waiting patiently for everyone to finish reading the report. Once they were done, he smiled and said softly:

"After three months of excavation and refinement, we've obtained twelve jin and eight liang of chakra metal."

When everyone heard this, they wore serious expressions, even Hiashi Hyuga, who was from a powerful clan, looked grave.

It was time to distribute the resources, and everyone was curious about how Yosuke would handle it.

Looking around, Yosuke spoke softly, “Since this mine was discovered by the Senju clan, I believe the Senju should receive thirty percent. Do you all agree?”

Hiashi Hyuga and Shibi Aburame, both young clan leaders, nodded after hearing this:

“I agree with Captain Yosuke’s proposal.”

No one objected to Yosuke’s suggestion, and Senju Ki also smiled, appreciating Yosuke’s lack of prejudice. He was not the type of Uchiha who ignored others’ opinions or acted arrogantly.

Uzumaki Kushina, who was also from the Senju clan’s sphere, smiled and nodded as well. Having decided to eventually take over Mito’s role to protect the Senju clan, she naturally considered herself part of it, and the clan had given her full support.

“As for the remaining seventy percent, I propose twenty percent each for Uchiha, Hyuga, and Aburame, with the final ten percent set aside for clans to purchase. The funds raised will be used for war compensation.

After all, many civilian ninjas are fighting alongside us, and we all know how tight the village’s compensation funds are.”

If a ninja with no potential descendants died, the compensation for their family was minimal.

Yosuke’s suggestion surprised the group. Hiashi exchanged a surprised look with Shibi Aburame.

Hiashi hadn’t expected Yosuke to suggest an equal share, given the usual hierarchy of Senju, Uchiha, then Hyuga, and finally Aburame.

Shibi, though initially surprised, showed gratitude, as Yosuke was placing Aburame on an equal footing with the other clans.

Hiashi wanted to object but refrained since Uchiha and Hyuga were receiving equal shares. “I have no objections.”

“Yes, the civilian ninjas are our comrades too.”

With everyone’s agreement, Yosuke smiled.

“The Senju will receive an additional ten percent as the discoverers of the mine. But going forward, contributions will determine shares. The more effort, the greater the reward.”

“Uchiha, Hyuga, and Aburame will each have a fixed share of fifteen percent. The remaining share will be distributed based on each clan’s contributions, while Senju will keep an additional ten percent as the discoverer…”

Just as Yosuke spoke, Senju Ki and Kushina exchanged a quick glance, and Kushina took a deep breath before interrupting.

“The Senju are willing to give up half a percent, keeping a fixed share of twenty percent.”

Kushina’s words surprised Yosuke, who then looked at the steady, middle-aged Senju jonin, Ki, with a smile.

No wonder Tsunade had entrusted this matter to Ki—he was indeed steady and thoughtful.

Kushina’s choice of words, “give up,” instead of merely stating a reduced amount, was meaningful.

Ki knew that the weakened Senju clan couldn’t match Uchiha and Hyuga in future contributions. Rather than clinging to a small benefit, it was wiser to build goodwill and still retain a fixed twenty percent share as the discoverer.

With everyone satisfied with the chakra metal distribution, Yosuke pointed to the refined iron data in the report.

“These are the refined iron stocks for high-quality kunai and shuriken. We’ll need to arrange monthly escorts…”

Here, Yosuke casually marked the data with a red pen, making a change that startled Hiashi and Shibi.

“According to the rules set by the First Hokage, clans have the right to half of any strategic resources discovered during wartime!”

After Yosuke said this, the young Hiashi and Shibi lowered their heads, nodding in agreement, though their expressions were hidden.

This was part of their clan training; it was simply their first time managing such a matter.

Kushina, too, had been taught about this by Tsunade. She blushed as she nervously voiced her agreement:

“The Senju clan agrees, but this time the shares should be based on war contributions.”

For the first time, Kushina felt a thrill as she spoke boldly about the allocation, her heart racing with excitement.

Senju Ki’s silence signaled his acceptance of Kushina representing the Senju clan.

The Senju, Uchiha, Hyuga, and Aburame clans all smiled, satisfied with this resource division. Sharing the resources brought them closer, making their alliance stronger.
