Chapter 78: The Chakra Blade

In the Uchiha Clan’s territory…

“Yosuke, I apologize!”

As Uchiha Fugaku walked out of the room, he bowed deeply, filled with guilt. But Uchiha Yosuke smiled, stepping forward to help him up.

“Brother Fugaku, we’re both doing this for the clan. No need to apologize.”

Fugaku felt even more guilty about Yosuke’s generosity. His father had entrusted him with the task of visiting other clans, essentially using the authority of the clan leader’s position, and now he felt as if he had stolen credit for Yosuke’s work.

“Yosuke…”

But before Fugaku could say more, Yosuke, smiling, lifted a gift box in his hand, jokingly saying, “Brother Fugaku, I’m very pleased with this gift. No need to be so formal.”

Seeing Yosuke’s magnanimity, Fugaku took a deep breath, burying his guilt and nodding earnestly.

“I understand, Yosuke.”

After a respectful bow, Fugaku turned and left, determined to repay Yosuke in the future.

As Fugaku departed, a dissatisfied voice came from behind.

“Yosuke, that was your idea. Just because he’s the clan leader’s son, does that mean he can just take your credit?”

Although Uchiha Mikoto wore her usual warm smile, there was clear dissatisfaction in her tone, as she felt that Yosuke, not Fugaku, should have been the one to visit the clans.

Seeing Mikoto’s concern, Yosuke smiled, opening the gift box to reveal a beautiful chakra-metal weapon.

“Our young clan leader didn’t skimp; so much chakra metal and rare materials. Sister Mikoto, give it a try and see how it feels.”

Yosuke steered the conversation away, handing the chakra weapon to Mikoto, who couldn’t help but put aside her displeasure and gaze at the straight sword with awe.

“Yosuke, is this chakra-metal sword yours!?”

The sword closely resembled the straight blade that Yosuke wore on his waist—the Grasscutter Blade—but this one was white, exuding an elegant aura.

Seeing Mikoto’s delight, Yosuke smiled.

“It seems you’ll be joining me on our mission to the Land of Rain, Sister Mikoto. Brother Fugaku mentioned using the clan’s chakra metal to craft a sword for me. Since Lord Orochimaru already gifted me a great weapon, I asked him to make an identical one. Although it’s a bit less sharp, it’s still a rare weapon.”

Mikoto’s eyes softened, her expression gentle.

“A matching pair, huh.”

To her, the pair of black and white blades represented something beyond their physical value.

“Yosuke, I really like it.”

She held the sword lovingly, seeing it as a subtle bond between her and Yosuke.

Just then, a cheerful voice called from outside.

“Mikoto, Yosuke!”

It was Kushina Uzumaki.

“Kushina?”

Seeing her sudden appearance, Mikoto looked puzzled, while Kushina, noticing Yosuke was also there, showed a hint of awkwardness. She quickly smiled, taking out two larger chakra knives.

“It’s perfect timing you’re both here. I have good news: I’ll be joining you on the battlefield. These chakra blades are effective against Sand Village’s puppets.”

Holding one of the chakra knives, Yosuke was surprised; these were the specially designed blades for facing Sand Village’s puppeteers.

Kushina, with a big smile, handed them over. Yosuke couldn’t help but chuckle at her generosity—chakra-metal weapons were rare, but Kushina gifted them with ease.

“Oh, and this is to thank you for teaching me the Rasengan.”

Feigning a proud look, but with a slight blush, Kushina took out a green scroll and tossed it to Yosuke.

“This is a sealing technique from the Uzumaki clan called ‘Curse Sealing Mark.’ Let’s consider it an exchange for your Rasengan.”

With that, Kushina quickly changed the subject, chatting with Mikoto, while Yosuke examined the scroll and chakra weapons in hand. He almost forgot that Kushina, as a princess of the Uzumaki clan, possessed valuable sealing techniques.

“Curse Sealing Mark?”

He recalled that this technique could immobilize opponents by binding them with markings that appeared all over their bodies.

“Kushina, you’re joining too?”

Inside, Mikoto looked at Kushina in surprise, wondering why she was going to the front lines.

Since Fugaku, the clan leader’s son, was already going to gain merit, Mikoto had to join too to maintain her position within the clan.

“Yes, Sister Mikoto, it’s because…”

Kushina chattered happily, the two friends catching up, while Yosuke focused on the sealing scroll.

Meanwhile, Kushina, stealing glances at him as he studied her gift, wore a slight, unintentional smile.

“Oh, I see now.”

Mikoto nodded, with Kushina’s straightforwar

dness evident. With the alliance between Senju and Uchiha, now was the time to establish trust.
