Chapter 72

Chapter 72 Uchiha Yosuke Has Both!

In the glow of the moonlight…

Uchiha Yosuke held Kushina Uzumaki securely as he landed lightly on a tree branch. The mischievous Kushina flashed her small, fierce tiger-like fangs at him.

“Uchiha Yosuke!”

Seeing Kushina’s fiery gaze, Yosuke chuckled earnestly and shook his head. “Kushina, that’s not right. You should be looking at me with admiration—your ears blushing, and your face heating up in embarrassment.”

Yosuke’s landing point was the same spot where Minato Namikaze had been standing just moments ago.

“Kushina, are you alright?”

Minato’s concerned eyes met Kushina’s as he looked up at her in Yosuke’s arms.

Seeing Minato’s worried expression, Kushina scowled at both of them. “Uchiha Yosuke! How long are you planning to hold me?”

Yosuke shrugged, smirking as he replied, “Mikoto was right. Kushina really is soft.”

“You!”

Kushina’s cheeks flushed red, and she glared at Yosuke with embarrassment. Meanwhile, Yosuke’s face beamed with amusement.

Playing the hero? That’s never really him! When it comes to feelings, he’s always sincere.

From below, an enraged ANBU member glared at an Uchiha ninja and demanded, “Uchiha! Who asked you to interfere?”

The elite Uchiha members shifted awkwardly. It was as if they’d accidentally wandered onto a stage in the middle of someone else’s performance.

“It’s all a misunderstanding!” said Fugaku Uchiha, stepping forward to explain. Meanwhile, other Uchiha ninjas spoke up, albeit somewhat defensively.

“Humph! We saw a kidnapping attempt on one of our village’s ninjas. It’s our Police Force’s duty to intervene!”

“Exactly! And why didn’t you ANBU inform us beforehand? Isn’t that just a sign of distrust?” They were indignant, feeling overlooked and disrespected.

Yosuke was amused, smirking as he watched the scene unfold from above, while Minato looked a little uncomfortable, and Kushina’s face was still full of anger.

“Minato, what do you think of this little play?”

Minato smiled and nodded, “As long as Kushina’s safe, that’s what matters.”

He stole a glance at Kushina, clearly relieved that she hadn’t betrayed the village after all. Heroic rescue aside, Minato felt a new sense of fair competition between him and Yosuke.

But Yosuke only shook his head in amusement, thinking, 'Young man, you don’t understand a girl’s heart.'

“Hmph! Uchiha Yosuke, put me down!” Kushina’s huff broke Yosuke’s thoughts, and with a bit of reluctance, he complied.

Once on her feet, Kushina shot him a furious look. She had asked him to put her down, but why did he listen so easily?

“Kushina, are you…”

“Quiet!”

When Minato tried to ask if she was alright, she silenced him, leaving him scratching his head awkwardly, while Kushina glared at both of them. Minato with his worried eyes, Yosuke with his mocking smile—it was infuriating!

But as she met Yosuke’s unfiltered gaze, she felt a pang of sweetness beneath her frustration. She knew he cared, or else why would he call in the entire Uchiha Police Force?

With a smile, Yosuke looked over at Minato, as if to say, *You may be sincere, but I, too, am genuinely interested in her beauty and potential.*

In the end, it’s both tricks and sincerity that win hearts, and Yosuke wanted both.

“Yosuke!”

Fugaku Uchiha looked at him gravely, but Yosuke just shrugged and smiled. “Fugaku, don’t worry. I just saw a comrade being kidnapped, so it’s only natural to call for backup. I even sent word to the Hokage.”

Suddenly, from within the forest, dozens of Leaf Village ninjas emerged. Uchiha Fugaku looked slightly stunned—what a grand turnout!

With the ANBU and Police Force each eyeing each other fiercely, the scene had become a strange battlefield of its own.

Yosuke watched the unfolding events with a smirk, unlike Fugaku who appeared more concerned. It wasn’t the Uchiha who needed to worry now—it was the Hokage. In wartime, the trust between factions was critical, and Uchiha needed an answer.

Turning to Kushina’s ever-changing expression, Yosuke smiled. “Don’t feel like heading back yet?”

Kushina responded with an angry glare.

“Then, shall I carry you back?”

Kushina’s face flushed, and she threatened, “Just wait, Yosuke! I’m telling Mikoto about this.”

But Yosuke just laughed. Seeing her flustered yet fierce demeanor, he knew she was only hiding her own confusion.

“Kushina, slow down.”

Minato’s concern echoed behind her, but she didn’t turn back, her fiery red figure returning to the village as the moonlight glinted off her hair.
