This morning, we woke up eager to tackle the final tasks on our shed. I made a trip to the hardware store to pick up corrugated metal roofing and other supplies. Naturally, being me, the universe decided to stretch the outing into an unexpectedly long affair. Next time, I think I’ll avoid shopping on the Saturday after Black Friday!
Once I returned home, we got straight to work. However, it was far too hot to handle the metal roofing, so we shifted our focus to trimming the door and windows. I must say, I’m absolutely delighted with how it turned out. What I truly enjoy about building is not necessarily the physical act of raising the structure, but the artistry and design—deciding on details like the 45-degree angles, the country-style touches, or what I like to call the "Swiss chateau" vibe we ultimately settled on. While our work may not be groundbreaking or extraordinarily unique, the process itself was incredibly rewarding.
Tomorrow, I’ll tackle the roof before any rain arrives this fall, and Matt will begin staining and painting. More to come soon.
Remember to stay active, and always take time for the things that matter most to you.
