Launch Puzzles Reveal Week 1 - Hallwyl Museum Pack

Hello Puzzlers, we’re getting closer to the launch of the full Puzzling Places game on the Oculus Store for Quest and Quest 2! Why not celebrate it by slowly revealing the incredible new puzzles that are included in the game?

This week, we are revealing the “Hallwyl Museum Pack”, the first of our new “puzzle packs”, which are a collection of puzzles centered around a specific place, theme, or country that are included in Puzzling Places.

The Hallwyl Museum Pack is made in collaboration with the Statens Historiska Museer (the National Historical Museums of Sweden) and it features four of the incredible rooms of the Hallwyl Museum turned into puzzles!

The Hallwyl Museum Pack includes the following four puzzles:
- The Upper Vestibule

- The Stables

- The Billiards Room

- The Drawing Room

Background

The Hallwyl Museum is a Swedish national museum located in Stockholm, Sweden. Built in the late 19th century, originally, it served as the palatial residence of Count and Countess von Hallwyl. The palace was created to accommodate the office of the count as well as the extensive art collection of the countess, many of which are visible on the walls of the various Hallwyl puzzles.

The palace was donated to the Swedish State in 1920 to be turned into a museum on the condition that it would remain unchanged. The museum features preserved rooms from the late Victorian period in Sweden giving a glimpse into the lifestyles of the nobility in Stockholm at the time.

The museum was 3d scanned using Photogrammetry by Erik Lernestål of the SHM in 2017 and the data open-sourced under the CC-Attribution license for people to be able to use for all sorts of purposes. You might be familiar with some of the beautiful Hallwyl rooms through Sketchfab or certain VR experiences such as VRChat or and our Patreon puzzle, the Smoking Room - #02

Working together with Erik and the SHM, we have re-processed and remastered their Photogrammetry scans to create puzzles with stunning detail! And not only the visuals will be gorgeous, all four puzzles feature intricate and unique soundscapes that you’ll unlock while you puzzle. We’re very excited for you all to play it soon!

Game Development Update

As for an update on the release of the game, we’re just a few days away from the gaming “going gold”, meaning, the final production-ready, launch version of the game being finished. We’re working closely with Oculus on quality-assurance testing and bug-fixing.

Very soon once everything is approved, we’ll be able to announce the release date of the game as well as provide an Oculus Store app listing for you to add to your “wishlist”!

Once again, we want to thank each and every one of your Patrons for supporting the development of Puzzling Places. Your contribution, feedback, and support will forever be a part of the Puzzling Places story.

Yes, there's definitely a strong possibility :)

Hi Colin, as stated in the previous posts, the Patreon has effectively ended and will be shut down once the full game launches (which is coming quite soon!). We've also paused the billing cycles for all Patreon Tiers so that active Patrons can download all the puzzles from our library and play them as they wish without paying for additional months. Hope that helps clarify things!

Hi Randy, we're definitely trying to find a way to thank the Patrons that have supported us, but we're still working on the details and some of the decisions are out of our hands. We'll try our best so stay tuned!

Is there any special consideration for Patreon members? We've spent a lot of money here.

No, all the Patreon puzzles will be compatible with the full game, they've said instructions will be provided (i.e. copy the files on the headset to the relevant folder)

you could have gave us one to do this week ,im thinking of canceling 1 a week is not good enough . 360 jigsaw i can load as many as i like and dont have to pay monthly.

I would like to know if i was to get the full version of this game will i lose all the puzzles i have now

Any possibility of there being more pieces in the full version?

This looks great. Can't wait for the launch!

Mike

I really enjoyed the Smoking Room... these look amazing. Thanks for the preview images. Looking forward to the next. You've given us so many great locations this is tough - I'm guessing Frankfurt?

Thanks Christine! Puzzling Places on the Oculus Store will be a paid game (the price of which we'll be announcing soon) with a whole new set of puzzle. We would like to find a way to thank the Patrons that have supported us, but we're still working on the details and some of the decisions are out of our hands. We'll try our best so stay tuned!

We'll start with a bunch of launch content that is included and will take it from there =)

Wow how good do they look !

and will there be a subscription for the full game?

Damn! That pack looks exiting!

Excited to be along for this journey. Wondering if we'll need to purchase the game when its released in the Oculus store? The wishlist comment has me wondering.

These look great and remind me of the puzzle favorite Smoking Room!
