TBE Chapter 114

TBE Chapter 114

Ezekiel and the rest moved into their new house. They admired all of the furniture that Ms. Nedura purchased for them, and he had to admit that giving the designer free rein on how to decorate their house was a success.

Their whole house looked elegant but warm and inviting, which was the aesthetic that Ezekiel wanted. They checked every room while the designer followed them with her telling Ezekiel about each piece that she had bought and their actual prices. The kitchen was now full of things that a house could use, like plates, pans, knives, spoons, forks, and everything a chef or a cook would need to serve a family. The bathroom had a bathtub that they could use to take a bath, and there were actually pipes that delivered water to the kitchen sink and bathroom. It came from the tank that they needed to fill with water from the well. The sturdy wooden tank was located in the backyard, and the well was there as well.

At first, Ezekiel thought that he would need to cast a one-story Galder’s Tower in the backyard, which would be designated as their washroom since the Galder’s Tower would be able to provide them with hot water anytime they wanted, but because of the presence of the tank and the pipes, he didn’t need to bother with that anymore.

The two bedrooms beside the kitchen that were supposed to be for the servants were filled with furniture good enough for rich folks. The two rooms had beautiful beds with firm mattresses covered by handsome bed sheets. The pillows and thick blankets were placed at the head of the beds. The wardrobes were also a nice touch. Ezekiel did tell Ms. Nedura that he also expected the servants’ room to be well furnished and well decorated.

They then went to the second floor to inspect each of the rooms. When Robert and Luke saw the room assigned to them, they immediately climbed into the bunk beds. The wardrobe looked sturdy, and there were a couple of huge chests located in different sections of the room. The boys could place whatever they wanted in those chests, like their toys or books.

The boys’ room was also big enough for a long table and two chairs that could be used for studying. There was a huge painting of a knight battling a dragon in one of the walls.

Robert and Luke inspected every inch of their room, and after that, they ran to Ezekiel to hug him, thanking him for their beautiful room.

The next room they inspected was the room assigned to Simon. It was also gorgeously designed, but like the guest room, it didn’t have any unique personality. Ezekiel guessed that Ms. Nedura chose to have generic designs in those rooms because she assumed that the occupants would be the ones that would personalize the space.

The master bedroom, which was going to be Ezekiel’s room, was designed to look like the room of the patriarch of the family. He almost laughed out loud since it didn’t look like the room of a fourteen-year-old kid, but someone who was in his forties. Nevertheless, he liked it and thanked Ms. Nedura for the assistance that she had brought him.

The basement and the attic were empty since he told Ms. Nedura to leave them alone. Ms. Nedura then mentioned that there were a couple of gold coins left, but he just told the designer to keep them. That statement brought a huge smile to the woman’s face and a frown to Edward’s.

Simon told Ezekiel that he would get their cart, Prince Charming, and Cinderella from the hotel’s stable. At least, the stable beside their house was big enough to house their two donkeys. He asked Edward to come with Simon so they could officially check out from the hotel.

Ezekiel knew that the next few weeks would be a busy time for him. Their house wasn’t totally complete yet. He would need to purchase a lot more things, but this time he would do so from his system store. He would also need to study how to lay out electrical cables in their house that would be attached to a generator that he planned to put in the backyard. He wanted electricity in their house so they could utilize some electrical appliances like their television, VCR, a microwave, an air conditioner, a heater, and a refrigerator. He knew that it would be a major undertaking, though, so he would take his time to avoid mistakes.

He wanted to have a modern house, but to the citizens of this world, it would be like a magical house. Ezekiel couldn’t wait to start.

When Simon and Edward returned, Robert and Luke rushed to get their things from the cart and brought them to their room. Ezekiel brought the things from their cart to the house and placed them where they should be placed. The dishwashing soap and sponges went to the sink. The toiletries went to the bathroom, and all the pots and pans went to the kitchen.

During dinner that night, Ezekiel told Edward that he didn’t plan to get a servant yet.

“Why wait?” Edward asked while munching on a pizza slice.

“I want to completely transform our house to have electricity. It’s the power that will let me run some devices like the television that lets us watch a movie.”

Ezekiel then listed all the appliances that he wanted to place in the house and their function, and everything that he said brought amazement to everyone’s faces. He knew that Robert and Luke were mostly excited about the television because now that they were fluent in English, they could watch the movies that Ezekiel could show them, and they would understand them perfectly. Even Simon and Edward should be able to understand the movies better.

After dinner, Robert, Luke, and Simon went to the boys' room to play with their Lego set while Ezekiel and Edward remained at the dining table between the living room and the kitchen.

Ezekiel described to Edward that the huge box that would provide the power to the appliances would be placed in the backyard, and cords would need to be placed in discreet and possibly hidden places connected to the box that the appliances would need to be connected to.

He brought out a notebook and a pencil from his 4th tab space and did a quick drawing of a simple generator and electric cord. Ezekiel also showed Edward the outlet and the plug concept.

“Basically, I need help in installing these items and would prefer the help of someone who is already used to the things that I’m conjuring,” Ezekiel told the minstrel.

Edward still looked confused but told Ezekiel that he would do everything he could to help. After that, he told Edward that the first thing they needed to do was to decide which places in the house the appliances would be placed, then measure the distance from the generator to the appliance. It was going to be a major undertaking, so they planned to start the next day and would start with the 65-inch television and speakers.

After their talk, Ezekiel checked his siblings, and when he saw that they were still playing, he told them that it was time to sleep. Then he went to his room to sleep.

The next day, after breakfast, Robert and Luke excitedly watched when they saw Ezekiel, Edward, and Simon attached the television wall mount to the wall in the living room. When it was done, they placed the VCR and the speakers in the decorative wall table that they placed under the television, then they all sat on the sofa facing the television to check if everyone would be comfortable watching shows while they were sitting comfortably in the chairs.

After everyone unanimously agreed that it was comfortable, Edward started measuring the distance between the television and the backyard where they planned to place the generator. While the minstrel was doing the measuring, Edward started looking at the list of huge generators that he could purchase. He thought of possibly attaching solar panels and batteries, but it would be more complicated, so he decided to stick with a generator first. After he chose the generator that he would purchase, Ezekiel noted down the measurement since they would need to build a shed that would house the generator and block the majority of the noise that the machine would produce.

The generator shed must be big enough for a person to navigate through, and it should have a compartment where they could store the fuel safely.

When Edward told him that the measurement was done, Ezekiel told Edward his requirements that would house the generator. Looking at the measurement and the design that Ezekiel drew, the minstrel told him that it would take too much time for the shed to be built.

Ezekiel had to reiterate that the carpenters that he would hire would need to choose materials that would block noise effectively, and the minstrel assured him that he knew what to do. After that, the minstrel exited the house to look for carpenters.

While they were waiting for the project to be completed, Ezekiel joined his brothers in playing with their Lego sets.
