Lynette Joy Simms and Chris Dawson

In January 1982, Lynette Dawson, a loving wife and mother, vanished from the suburbs of Sydney, Australia. Her husband, Chris Dawson, a former professional rugby player and local celebrity, insisted that she left voluntarily. Lyn’s family and friends initially believed his story but as the years passed with no contact from Lyn, their suspicions of foul play grew. It wasn’t until decades later that a true crime podcast called The Teacher’s Pet reignited public interest in the case. Cries grew louder for a thorough investigation to finally be done which ulitimately lead to justice for Lyn and her family.

Thank you for the explainers 😅♥️! It’s fun to learn about different cultures it I’m afraid of getting things wrong and offending anyone.

Love listening to you guys talk about Aussie things! Prefects are leaders of the school, offsiders to the school captains. I think perhaps now called student council. Footy, a loose term means different things depending on where you’re from ….Victorians would probably refer to AFL - Aussie rules - as footy, Queenslanders would call Rugby league footy, Rugby union is called rugby though. The term bloody….to me it’s a very PG swear word…or curse word…maybe equivalent to saying bloody hell in Aus would be saying gosh darn it. It’s definitely not equivalent to the F bomb or C bomb - perhaps a little bit more weighty in the 80s tho! Can’t wait to listen to part 2!

She was a lovely person. She and her girls deserved so much better. I say this almost every week but it’s true.

Thanks for all the pics. I listened to Teachers Pet awhile back but didn’t have any visuals to go along with it; these pictures highlight the unimaginable loss of Lyn.
