Globally, between 700,000 and 800,000 people lose their lives to suicide each year, with around 50,000 in the U.S. alone.
Our donation for September goes to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Mental health and suicide prevention are causes that we hold close to our hearts.
About AFSP: Established in 1987, AFSP is a voluntary health organization that empowers a nationwide community affected by suicide through research, education, and advocacy. AFSP is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those impacted by suicide, including those who have experienced a loss.
AFSP creates a culture that’s smart about mental health by focusing on:
• Funding scientific research
• Educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention
• Advocating for mental health policies
• Supporting survivors of suicide loss and those affected by suicide
Led by CEO Robert Gebbia and headquartered in New York, AFSP has local chapters in all 50 states, DC, and Puerto Rico, offering programs and events nationwide.
