Lumen Darker

Everyone has a darker side to them... the side that they keep to themselves or reveal to very few. That secret corner of their mind where they keep all the deep desires, dreams and fantasies. We hide them away because we don't think others will understand or they will judge us for what we want.

I use to keep this career tucked away in fear of what others may say... those I was afraid to loose from my life or valued their opinion over my own.

I've had sexual desires and fantasies that I've kept under lock and key because I was worried of what that said about me... even worried about my own self judgement ... or not truly knowing how I would feel if those fantasies became real.

I've had dreams that I wanted to pursue but thought it would make me less of a "decent" person by society standards.

I'm learning that the key to accepting your "darkness" is surrounding yourself with those who see you and accept you for not just your light but also your darkness. Once you bring those 'wants' out of the dark corner and into the light, they no longer seem so dark.

This key is easier said than done... it takes bravery and true sense of self love to take the risks of loosing some people. Sometimes it will hurt but in order for the right ones to come in, you have to make room by letting the others walk away. And special note: not everyone needs to know these sacred parts of you, just those who truly matter <3

I've been fortunate to slowly allow my darker self enter into the light:

I've made a very public career where I create nude art and erotica art. I've embraced that this exploration of creating brings my heart joy and it is something I truly love.

I've found a partner that not only sees me for those desires and fantasies but encourages them to come to the surface and grow with them in a safe, loving atmosphere.

I've realized what really defines a "decent" person. Your decency is not defined by your career, how much skin you show, what fantasies you desire.... Being a decent human is a human of good character and how you treat others around you. You can be an outstanding human and enjoy being a nude artist.

This career has continued to provide depths of freedom and inner strength that I never expected. Forever grateful <3
