The Gundam Shirts Dilemma
Added 2022-08-09 04:06:00 +0000 UTCHey everyone! So today I spent half of the day supervising the gundam tests. We ended up with these color ways and I'm a bit conflicted on which one should be the final version.
The green and blue is very nice and you don't normally see other glow in the dark colors outside of green, I was pleasantly surprised when the possibility was presented to me. The problem is that the green glows way too much which is great (altough it makes the shirt feel a bit more plastic than previous shirts) and it completely kills the blue color.
The other issue with it is that these were charged under UV light to see how the final colors would look, but not everyone has a damn UV Light table at home to charge their shirts every once in a while just to show off.
You can see how these glow after being charged under regular led lights in the attached videos, that ofc aren't as powerful as the sun but we all know that sun light charge wont last long. Either way the idea of making it look like an old arcade screen (or monochrome screen if we go with the green one) works pretty good in both versions imo which is a nice bonus since you don't see a lot of merch with this kind of gimmicks afaik.

Ye I'm afraid it's going to be full green. I'll do some sunlight tests today though and see how that goes

2022-08-09 14:59:14 +0000 UTCI do like the added visibility of full green. I agree that the blue-green feels more retro also. So for glowing: green For daily wearing: blue-green But as glowing is kinda the whole aim, I’m gonna vote green.

2022-08-09 11:28:37 +0000 UTCIt's overkill, but I like the green and blue combo as it feels more traditional retro (even though I know a grew up on a green screen) Granted that also is cause as much as the glow in the dark would be cool to show off, it's difficult to get the full effect without a uv light/sun. So the blue green combo has a little more depth in most other situations.
