How do you feel about AI?
Added 2025-02-01 04:09:15 +0000 UTCI've been playing around with AI Video (using Pixverse and Hailuo) and with image generation on Civitai, and locally using Forge WebUI.

Anyway, I find it a fun distraction because it can generate so quickly, and I really like the realistic style as I feel like it does not take away from illustrators.
I've been thinking about possibly posting some of my best "pieces", but I know that AI is a controversial subject.
So this is your chance to tell me how you feel about it.
Update: I forgot to mention that AI won't replacing my regular work. It's just something I like to play with on the side.

2025-08-14 20:27:49 +0000 UTCLLM's, or "AI" as these things are being marketed as are built on the work of people who for the most part never agreed to have their intellectual property stolen to build these things, not only that but they're also completely diluting and destroying our creative spaces at an alarming rate. On top of all of that they're also eroding the trust people have in one another, they're being used to drive pseudoscience, conspiracy theories and by bad actors to sow discontent. While companies such as Adobe, Spotify, YouTube (Google), Facebook and others are using these "tools" to steal the content of their users and saturating their platforms (as well as the internet as a whole) with "AI" generated garbage. To me, any and all "AI" tools should not have their use promoted by anyone who cares about the artistic process and those who value real human creativity, truth, the integrity of artists copyright and so on. I'm wholeheartedly against any and all use of "AI" tools and I feel that it can do nothing but hurt your brand, it's frankly alarming that 49% of voters on this poll as of me writing are either for or not bothered by the erosion of creativity taking place, the stealing of other people's work and the sacking of thousands of artists because companies don't care about quality but only care about their bottom lines. If you go ahead with using AI, I will no longer support you... and I am sorry for that. I have never been able to give much but I've been a patron since Feb 2019 and a follower of your work for years before that. I would prefer this doesn't happen but that's where I stand on the topic.

2025-02-07 21:44:39 +0000 UTCIt's pretty hard for it to be doing 100% of the work, though that doesn't stop some bad apples from throwing out garbage prompts and hitting "generate" over and over, then bulk uploading all kinds of trash AI images. But once you start trying to figure it out, it's like a huge can of worms and a whole world of things to learn

2025-02-02 03:30:41 +0000 UTCI'm on the fence about AI when it comes to art. i guse if you are using it as a tool to speed things up, it would be a good thing. (Plug YCH and backgrounds scenes you've already made so you don't have to remake them for every scene.) but if the AL is doing 100% work and passing it off as your own and collecting money on it. That would be a VERY bad thing.

2025-02-01 22:42:19 +0000 UTCYes, I agree. AI *can* be quite creative. But the ease of accessibility has also led to some bad actors who are over-producing and dumping on art sites, or otherwise causing trouble. Hopefully those will go away soon :)

2025-02-01 17:57:13 +0000 UTCMost of what you see in terms of AI content is probably not being produced by people with an art mindset. I had the same take when I first starting seeing AI art getting dumped in mass quantities on DeviantArt. But the people doing that are not artists. In contrast, I've seen a lot more creative, more curated, and higher quality stuff on Civitai. I think a lot of the people using it there are artists or art-minded people. And technically speaking, when you get to the advanced levels (mixing loras, inpainting, adetailers, upscalers, running it yourself) it becomes a lot more interesting (and challenging) than just mindlessly typing prompts. As with any new thing, there are bad actors right now trying to make a quick $$, and they are ruining it for everyone. One some etiquette starts being created and some filtering or rules are in place to stymie the bad ones, it will get much better

It's incredibly 'by the numbers' and lacking any real form of interesting camera angles or scene shifts. The 'photorealistic' nature of it I feel detracts from the experience as well. I'd really rather this not be a significant part of your release cycle as it just doesn't compare to your actual works or other's full efforts.
