Hola chicos! Before we dive headfirst into the spicier side of Guadalajara—aka Gaydalajara—with our nightlife guide coming next week, we had to give you a little tease from where it all started: our spectacular Airbnb stay in Colonia Americana.
This neighborhood is the spot for tourists, digital nomads, and gay travelers alike—you can literally walk to almost every restaurant, cocktail bar, and gay club in minutes. For longer stays, we always love the extra space of an Airbnb, and this one had us hooked: a stunning outdoor terrace with iconic city views and a double shower (yes, just like we have at home 😉). Let’s just say, it was an easy choice.
If you’re planning your own Gaydalajara trip, we’d definitely recommend this Airbnb for a few weeks or even a couple of months. For hotel lovers, you can’t go wrong with Hotel Demetria or Demetria Bungalows, our top two picks for luxury stays.
Getting here? Super easy. We hopped a quick flight from Puerto Vallarta since we had our little rescue pup in tow, but the luxury buses are comfy, inexpensive, and totally worth it if you’re traveling light. Plus, Guadalajara’s airport is modern and has great flight connections if you’re coming from further away.
This week’s YouTube video was all about our epic Jose Cuervo Express Tequila Train experience (don’t miss it—we may or may not have had tequila shots before 10 a.m. 🙊). But next week, we’re taking you into the heart of Gaydalajara nightlife: our favorite restaurants, bars, and everything you need to have an unforgettable time. From drag shows and taco stands to the legendary cruise clubs (where yes, clothes are optional), we’ll tell you which one is worth your pesos—and which one you can totally skip. Think of this post as the foreplay before the real action. 🌈🔥
So click through the pics and videos we’ve attached—you’ll see exactly why this Airbnb (and its double shower) made us feel right at home. 😉
