When we first started coming to Zipolite, we didn’t get it.
Every night we’d watch the shirtless parade of men heading toward Playa del Amor just as the sun dipped below the horizon. And honestly? We thought the show was over.
Dinner time, right?
Wrong. 😏
Turns out, the real show starts after the dinner rush.
Let’s break it down: To reach Playa del Amor, you climb over the rocky trail behind Salmastro at the far east end of Playa Zipolite. It’s easy enough—even in flip flops—and once you crest the hill, you’re greeted by a clothing-optional cove full of cheeky swimmers, golden-hour nudes, and yes… a bit of mischief in the air. 🌴🔥
During the day, it’s a chill, carefree beach with a mix of locals and gay tourists. But after sunset? The families clear out, the beers start flowing, and it’s usually 95-99% gay men left behind.
Oh—and then comes the fire show. It usually starts off pretty tame—think Instagram-friendly twirls with speedos still on. But by the end? Let’s just say those flames aren’t the only things heating up. 🔥🍆
Once the crowd is properly warmed up, the entire beach shifts left—past the big rock—and turns into one massive free-for-all. You’ll see everything here. We mean everything. 👀
The best part? There’s zero pressure. You can get wild. You can just watch. You can skinny dip under the stars and disappear into the shadows… or make new friends and see where the night takes you. 😈
On peak nights like New Year’s Eve, the Nudist Festival, or Zipolite Pride (Diverso), it can swell to 50, 100, even more. Bodies. Boys. Candles. Bliss.
Now we totally get why it’s called Playa del Amor.
And yes—we captured some after-dark heat for this Patreon drop:
