While much of the gay scene is "mixed" in Rehomo—meaning gays and straights enjoy the same venues—Diego's Bar & Nightclub is decidedly different. It's also the friskier of the gay bars, especially late night on weekends where everyone seems to end up. The one exception is the popular Sunday T-Dance which kicks off much earlier at 5:30pm and ends around 8pm.
After a day on Poodle Beach, the main gay beach, we recommend cocktailing on the sunny outdoor patio at Aqua Bar around 4-5pm to snag a table in the shade. We likened Aqua to Boatslip in P-town. It's where gay locals and visitors begin their evening. The servers are also shirtless which makes it very easy to say yes to another round!
Next, head practically next door for dinner at Blue Moon. Not just a restaurant, it's also one of the top gay bars in town, featuring drag shows and live entertainment. They also serve excellent food and wine. Purple Parrot Bar & Grill and Freddie's Beach Bar are two after dinner bars to enjoy before ending the night at Diego's.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the afterparty continues at private houses rented by the gays who flock to Rehoboth from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. It's a relatively small community, so it's easy to meet people!
For some additional behind the scenes clips from this week's YouTube video, check out the attached videos below to see how excited Andy got for his martini at Blue Moon... and the fun we had taking blue balls shots with the sexy Bulgarian shot boy at Diego's. Our cameraman got a little crazy and allegedly paid said shot boy to see his massive... personality 😉 We were only able to capture his smile, but hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we did!
