Known as the friskiest of Sydney's gay nude beaches, Obelisk is a must-visit on any trip down under. It's also typically men-only unlike Lady Jane, another nudist beach on the opposite side of Sydney Harbour, which is decidedly mixed. Lady Jane is also more exposed to the public given its location along a busy walking path.
Obelisk, on the other hand, is remote and provides the privacy and seclusion for complete freedom. The coastal path above the rocks offers plenty of opportunities to get to know the locals better 😉 This gay nude beach can be quite cruise-y with the best eye candy of the beaches we visited. There are no facilities at Obelisk, so bring a towel along with plenty of water and sunscreen.
Another plus to Obelisk is that you can combine a visit with nearby Cobblers Beach, yet another nude beach just a short 15-minutes by foot, or Taronga Zoo. We took an Uber to Obelisk and then walked to lunch afterwards at Frenchy's Cafe. After lunch, we continued walking to Taronga Zoo followed by a return ferry to Circular Quay by the Opera House in Sydney's CBD.
