Patterns and Instructions: The Grace Bodice

Inspired by the classic elegance of Grace Kelly, the Grace Bodice is a stunning addition to the Lamour pattern series.
Feel like a princess with the capelet-inspired yoke, fully functional button placket and collar, and three different sleeve options. Try the sleeveless or short puff sleeve for a daytime look, or go for full drama with the long generous bishop sleeves.
No matter which options you choose, this classic Charm bodice is sure to have you looking like royalty!
We went all out for my lovely embroidered sheer pink number (with the bodice, collar, and placket underlined and the skirt lined for opacity) with the dramatic bishop sleeves and a tea-length circle skirt. Then Susie and I went more casual for the daytime looks in cotton with gathered skirts. She's in a gorgeous cotton floral with the short sleeve option, and I'm in a sleeveless brown gingham with some extra white ruffle trim.
You'll find the tiled file (for printing at home on A4 or letter size sheets and taping together) and the A0 file (for printing at a copy shop like ThePlottedPattern.com or PDFPlotting.com). Please note that we now have two size blocks, so make sure to download the correct files for the size you're making. I was just looking at this and came up with an idea. In the post Gertie says it has a capelet inspired yoke, I've seen dresses that have a capelet instead of sleeves, with a little pattern hacking you could use the capelet from last year, change the neck edge to be able to sew into the yoke seam and have a capelet dress. Hopefully that makes sense, I sometimes have a hard time describing my ideas but I think it would be really pretty!
