As I work on upgrading D.va while staying as true to the original as possible, my first focus is on textures and upscaling:
I've upgraded from 4K to 8K textures, including normal, specular, and gloss maps.
The results so far look fantastic, but the next step is to enhance the shader itself.
Since I'm using an old but exceptional D.va model, I'll need to refine the base skin shader as well. Check out the before and after screenshots below.
