A Wellness Update

it's been a while since I've made a proper update so I just wanted to take the time to let you guys know where my head is at right now. These past few months have been a doozy for me both physically and mentally, and while I don't like using this platform to talk about personal stuff, said personal stuff has affected the content here, so I want to address it.
At the beginning of the year, I dropped that little trailer for The Dandy Demon, and I know how hyped people got about it. I was [and still am] hyped about it myself and I still plan to work on more of the comic. However, things kinda fell apart around February and March. After a breakup, my mental health deteriorated, and on top of that, I had a hand injury that made it near impossible for me to work for as long as I was used to. My plans to work on this comic fell apart, and truth be told I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to draw again...which fucked my mental health even more.
This was partially the reason why I started Terramonstrum, my worldbuilding project. I wasn't happy with the foundation of DD, and wanted to go back and actually establish the world in which the comic took place while I was unable to draw in the meantime. I was essentially doing preproduction AFTER being 7-8 chapters in lol. Comics have always been a learning process for me. I'm making my mistakes and figuring out new methods in real time and I enjoy sharing that process with you all, but I understand that many of you would like to see the main story continue, and I want to see it too.
Right now I'm at a crossroads. My physical health has since improved, and my mental health has been on the up and up. But I'm just now realizing how many plates I've been spinning at once, and I don't know how much longer I can keep it up before things topple over and shatter. Do I continue Terramonstrum? Do I stop everything and continue The Dandy Demon as initially planned? I hate dropping projects that I've started, but if I keep all this up then nothing will come out, and I don't want to hurt myself again. You all have been too good to me and you deserve something.
I'll make a poll soon. In the meantime, thank you guys for your love and patience. ♥

do what you think is best man, i will give you my two cents since it may help you make up you mind though. i like all the world building, the fact your fleshing stuff out more makes me more intrested, and i love anything dandy demon wise. but i do also really enjoy all the new stuff you do.

2022-05-27 07:13:53 +0000 UTCI could be that nice guy and say "Hey do you man, do whatever makes you feel happy!" Which you should don't get me wrong. But the way it looks, your World building is probably the best option to continue with! If you plan to make DD the best it can be, having a fleshed out history and backstory just seems like the logical thing to double down on. Unless DD is just gonna be goofy dumb adult humor sexy time (please let there be sexy time) and just brush over the world's lore. In the end it's your choice where you go and how to play your cards. But I say double down on Terramonstreum. That's just my opinion.

Fuckin do it! We'll be here, ready to read more of your world, your comic and supporting you, because you are excellent at what you do. Please, take care of yourself first, we understand.

It's important that you give yourself a break once in a while before you overwhelm yourself. There's no rush, just pace yourself and the work will come out fine. Even if you decided to drop it, we really enjoy Dandy Demon, because we love the characters that much!

2022-05-26 21:03:06 +0000 UTCI saw the Terramonstrum stuff as an extension of working on Dandy Demon. Perhaps it would be the best to alternate? Like after you're done fleshing out one species you work on another project, be it Dandy Demon or something else and then flesh out another species and so on. Don't try to push yourself into making too much at once. There's no time limit you need to keep yourself to with Terramonstrum.

Glad to know your starting to recover from your current situation though. As for deciding on which project to continue. I’d suggest focusing on one of ‘em for a solid period of time. after if you want too. Switch and put a solid period of time on the other. (●ↀωↀ●)✧. You don’t have to drop a project. Just hit pause. Just might be paused for a long period of time but that’s alright
