lets give him all the tools he needs to survive and rescue his friends before we mess with him? it can be entertaining still once he's not got a knife at his throat every second of a nightmare world? hell it can be entertaining if we help him overcome dark-earth too without giving him nerfs until we think he's ready for them. Strange things seem fun, but negatives could kill him at this point
