My writing tends towards the inner monologue but it's always better to show rather than tell a fight or a lot of actions. That can get iffy from an "I" perspective. Done right, tension shoots through the roof. Done wrong, it feels stiff as a board. I haven't quite nailed the method down. But we'll be getting there.
