Absent advent

The thing I'm working on is taking a bit longer than expected. It's not quite new content, but I think it'll make things way more fun moving forward. It'll be ready soon.

I assume that a number of you are expecting me to do advent calendar videos as I did for the previous two years. I'm sorry to say that I won't be doing them this year.

The main reason is that I've grown very tired of the format, that is to say, short daily videos where posy gets 2 inches fatter and says something stupid as the video cuts off. I was really scraping the bottom of the barrel last year, and regularly had trouble coming up with what to do for a given day. On top of that, I was scrambling up until the last second to get the videos finished pretty much every single day, and honestly... it kind of ended up being a pretty miserable experience for me. I kind of only did the whole thing cause I felt like I had to.

So a couple of months ago, I started to think of ways to avoid having such a bad time with it this year. If I took the time to thoroughly plan everything out in advance, or maybe did weekly videos with some dumb excuse like posy falling asleep for a whole week in between every video, it could probably work out fine.

...but the time passed, and I was never able to settle on an idea, be it for the story or the format. Unfortunately, the time to really lock in on a specific idea and start planning coincided with when I hit a wall and started doubting myself a lot. So, the result is... I don't have anything!

I feel pretty silly writing multiple paragraphs about why you won't see a vampire get marginally fatter every day this year, but I guess I have no idea whether or not people were expecting it. If having the calendar videos again this year felt like a given to you, I'm very very sorry.

So, once I get done with this side thing, it's back to the regular "videos", as well as trying to finally get this stupid snack story update out of the way. I hope what's coming up can at least partially fill the calendar shaped hole in your heart.
